HISTORY

The Hamilton Fire Department was officially organized as a Town department on May 1st 1915. The town's first piece of motorized fire apparatus was an 1916 American La France Chemical engine. Though replaced in 1936, the "T" continued to see service During WWII when it was sent to an Island of the Maine coast for fire protection. Recently she has been restored back to it's original condition by the Hamilton Relief Association. You can see her in some of these pictures.
