Fire Department Desktop Theme
by Richard Muth
Revised 06-11-97

This Desktop Theme contains Wallpaper, cursors, icons and sounds reflective of the Fire service. They are fairly generic and should fit in with most any department. Of course, you can exchange files that are more specific, like a BMP or JPG file of your station or uniform patch. In fact, I encourage you to do so. (You don't even need a digital camera or a scanner. The pictures I used for the HFD page were taken with my standard 35mm camera and then digitally rendered when they were developed. Many photo finishing services offer this option for a small additional fee. The final result can be well worth it!)

Installation and Use:

Technically, this Theme requires Microsoft® Plus!, however I'm told that you can also use either of these archives if you don't have it:
MS Plus! FREE Demo
Destop Themes Without MS Plus!
This archive is in ZIP format. The use of WINZIP is highly recommended.

If you have installed Plus!, or the Plus! demo, just unzip the new theme you downloaded into the correct directory. Next, open Explorer and right click on the "Fire.Theme" file icon, then select "Apply Settings" to install the full Theme.
You can also use many of the components by individually installing them through the Control Panel. Brief instructions on this are included inside the archive.
